FAQ: Stink Bug Killer
"The bugs die when it dries!"
How does it work? The insecticide in our EPA registered product is Deltamethrin, Deltamethrin affects to nervous system of the insect.
It says “Kills on Contact” but the bug did not die when the spray hit it. Why does it take so long to kill the insect?
Harris Stink Bug Killer is a water-based indoor/outdoor formula with benefits like no odor or staining as well as a residual action. Petroleum or oil based sprays will kill faster but can stain, leave an odor, and kill shrubs. The down side to water based is the length of time before the insect dies.
How long will it take from the time I spray until the bug dies?
Harris works “after” the spray is dry. It can take 30 minutes up until a day. It depends on the amount of insecticide on the insect and how long it takes to dry.
I soaked the insect in a cup and it is still alive.
Leaving an insect in the wet solution is not the intended use for the product. Under those conditions the insecticide is mixed with water preventing the insecticide from working.
Can I spray on shrubs around my home?
This product is not intended for use on vegetables, fruits or edible crops. It can be sprayed on bushes, grass and weeds.
What about Children & Pets?
Once the product has sufficiently dried, pets and people may re-enter the area.
